Job Description

Position Overview

The Cybersmart Schools Awareness Officer (CSAO) is a key representative of the Cybersmart Initiatives (CI)— a national program dedicated to promoting cybersecurity awareness, digital safety education, and responsible online behavior among children and educators in nursery, primary, and secondary schools across Nigeria.

Each CSAO will be responsible for coordinating CI activities within assigned schools or zones, leading awareness campaigns, and registering teachers for participation and certification in the Cybersmart Educators Initiative.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct awareness visits, sensitization campaigns, and digital safety talks in nursery, primary, and secondary schools.

  • Carry out the registration of teachers in designated or assigned schools for participation in CEI 2.0 programs and certification.

  • Onboard students into Cybersmart Clubs and coordinate related digital safety and cybersecurity awareness activities.

  • Introduce and promote the Cybersmart Educators Initiative (CEI) 2.0 to school administrators, teachers, and pupils.

  • Distribute official CEI 2.0 campaign materials such as flyers, posters, and registration forms.

  • Facilitate interactive sessions, school workshops, and student-centered programs on cybersecurity and digital responsibility.

  • Collaborate with schools to organize Cyber Awareness Weeks, Digital Safety Days, and other club-based or school-wide events.

  • Collect and submit reports, feedback, teacher registration data, and student club records from assigned schools.

  • Maintain effective communication with the CEI 2.0 Coordination Team and uphold the core values and standards of the initiative.

 


Requirements

  • Minimum qualification: SSCE / OND / NCE / Bachelor’s Degree (Education, ICT, or related fields preferred).

  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Passion for education, digital literacy, and child online protection.

  • Ability to work effectively and independently within assigned schools or communities.

  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity, technology use, and safe online practices (training will be provided).

  • Reliable, organized, and committed to promoting positive digital culture in schools.
