State Cybersmart Coordinator (SCC)

Position Overview

The State Cybersmart Coordinator (SCC) serves as the principal representative and leader of the Cybersmart Initiative (CI) within a state.

The SCC oversees the entire network of Zonal Cybersmart Coordinators (ZCCs) and Cybersmart Schools Awareness Officers (CSAOs), ensuring the effective delivery of cybersecurity education, digital safety awareness, and teacher registration for the Cybersmart Educators Initiative (CEI).

The role is crucial in promoting collaboration between schools, state education boards, and community partners to strengthen digital safety culture across all levels of education — nursery, primary, and secondary schools.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and coordination for all Cybersmart Initiative programs and activities within the state.

  • Supervise and support Zonal Cybersmart Coordinators (ZCCs) and ensure consistent delivery of campaigns across all zones.

  • Oversee the registration of teachers for the Cybersmart Educators Initiative and ensure accurate data collation from schools.

  • Ensure the onboarding of students into Cybersmart Clubs across participating schools and promote sustainability of club activities.

  • Develop and implement statewide awareness plans in alignment with national Cybersmart Initiative goals.

  • Represent the Cybersmart Initiative in state-level education events, policy discussions, and stakeholder meetings.

  • Foster strong partnerships with Ministries of Education, SUBEB, and school proprietors for program support and expansion.

  • Coordinate the distribution and monitoring of campaign materials and ensure their effective utilization.

  • Prepare and submit comprehensive reports on outreach activities, performance metrics, and impact assessments to the National Coordination Team.

  • Identify and engage strategic partners (corporate, governmental, and non-governmental) to expand state-level impact.

  • Uphold the values, ethics, and operational integrity of the Cybersmart Initiative in all engagements.


Requirements

  • Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, ICT, Social Sciences, or related disciplines.

  • Master’s Degree in a related field will be an added advantage.

  • Professional certifications in cybersecurity, digital education, or leadership are highly desirable.

  • Proven experience in team leadership, coordination, and program management.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage education stakeholders effectively.

  • Demonstrated passion for cybersecurity education, child online protection, and digital literacy.

  • High level of integrity, accountability, and organizational discipline.

  • Ability to manage multiple zones, analyze reports, and drive statewide progress independently.
